About TKSS

A Chess-First Sports Institute with a Vision for the Future

Taanya Kaavya School of Sports (TKSS) is a chess-focused sports institute committed to developing young minds through structured, high-quality chess education. While chess is our primary focus today, our long-term vision is to grow into a multidisciplinary sports institute, offering opportunities for students to excel across various sports and skill-development programs.

Operating through our main centre in Mogappair and partner programs across Chennai, TKSS provides a supportive learning environment where every student is encouraged to think, learn, and grow with confidence.

At TKSS, we believe chess is more than a game. It is a powerful tool for developing focus, critical thinking, decision-making, patience, discipline, and resilience. Our coaching philosophy is student-centred, emphasizing individual growth, structured learning pathways, regular progress reviews, and long-term skill development rather than short-term results.

TKSS is proud to have trained students from India and internationally, including students in the United States who have successfully earned both US Chess ratings and FIDE ratings.
